Hundreds of people came through the doors of Hadleigh, Suffolk United Reformed Church, over the Advent season, to witness something of the truth of the Nativity portrayed in one of today's disaster relief tents. Shelterbox is a charity that provides emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters and need basic refuge and equipment.

Visit www.shelterbox.org for more information.

People caught up in the Haiti earthquake, the Indonesian tsunami and the Thailand floods have benefitted. Each tent along with key items such as blankets, water treatment equipment, a stove and pans, tools and gifts for the children are sent out in the ShelterBox. This durable plastic box is the size of a couple of large suit cases and can be used for storage and even as a cot, which Hadleigh put to good use in the retelling of the Christmas story

More than 800 people visited the nativity and donated enough for four ShelterBoxes (at £590 each).
