Description

Each year Lliswerry Baptist Church Newport books a billboard in their local community to wish the neighbourhood a 'Merry Christmas'. The billboard highlight's God's love for each of them, and invites them to their Christmas services. The billboard is then supported by the purchase of 2500 matching flyers which are distributed to 1000 local homes, used as invites by church members, and given out during Carol Singing at their large local Supermarket.

Rationale

The church wanted to share the positive messages of Christmas to others, but is located down a small side street and is not visible from the main road. It was hoped that the advertising campaign would help raise awareness of the real meaning of Christmas.

To welcome the community, through personal invitations from the church members, supporting those invites with a wider awareness of their message via the billboard.

Outcome

The community are welcomed to Christmas services. One year the community Police came along. New people have joined the church.
