Description

Using chocolate to share the true message of Easter.

What’s the idea?

Challenge your young people to give out a small Easter egg to each of their friends/classmates and use it to explain the importance of new life. Some youth groups lead assemblies in their schools explaining this, with the local church covering the cost of giving a chocolate egg to every student. This is a creative way of sharing the Easter story and challenging the young people to share their faith.

Consider:

How will you get enough eggs? Perhaps contacting a confectionary company to discuss what you are doing could yield a cheap bulk order. It would definitely be worth getting your church’s backing for this project and asking for their financial support.

Who will do the talking? Make sure your young people are confident explaining the message of new life behind Easter. If the project involves any public speaking, make sure those doing the talking are comfortable with this role.

Rationale

Challenge the young people to reach out to their friends, helping them to grow in confidence for mission. The eggs will help communicate the message and provide the context for the discussion.

Outcome

Young people share their faith.
