Saltmine Trust is a Christian creative arts charity. We believe in the power of drama and seek to be theatre with a message using performance, visual art, music, media and interactive teaching. Saltmine Theatre Company is a large part of our organisation, working in schools (both primary and secondary), churches, universities, community centres and theatres. In an average year, we stage around 21 different shows to over 100,000 people.

Over half of our work is involved in Theatre in Education, which is split into two groups. One tackles vital issues, such as internet safety, bullying, and extremism, and the other communicates the Christian story and values to children in a new and exciting way. Our work also fulfils the current Non-Statutory R.E. Curriculum.

Christmas shows are another branch of our work. We take three on tour each year, with the aim of bringing relevant, heartwarming and fun Christmas messages that churches can book to bless their congregation and reach out into the community.

Throughout the year we present shows in national theatres that are inspired by the life and teaching of Jesus, and his inclusive love for all people. Most recently we have produced ‘John Newton - Amazing Grace’ a biopic of the famous hymn writer, and ‘Noah - A Musical Adventure’ a family musical telling the story of Noah and his family.

Throughout history humanity has always loved a story. They have the power to engage, equip and bring hope. Our aim is to inspire all generations through theatre, media and interactive teaching. We seek to tell God’s story and values with grace, truth and an inclusive heart to all.

Saltmine Theatre Company is a creative alternative in mission and an exciting way to invite all into church.

The opportunity to learn, grow and reach out into the community in a new way: perhaps paying for your local school to have one of our Theatre in Education shows, booking us for a Christmas show and inviting the local community to come into church, or by taking friends to the theatre to see one of our national shows.
