Description

Do something fun for Father’s day. Bacon butties, a Harley in church, inter-church 5 a side football contest, race to assemble a flat pack table, hold a quiz, build the tallest Lego tower… there are so many enjoyable ways to celebrate Father’s Day as a church with your local community.

If you have a suitable community space, and weather permits hold a special celebration in the local area. If that is not possible, hold a very different type of service.

Ask the parents of your church to invite fathers face to face with a nice postcard sized flyer, and make the service engaging and enjoyable for men.

Rationale

Sorted magazine research found that only 33% of men feel comfortable in church, to put that into context 50% of men felt comfortable in a women’s underwear shop. Father’s day is an opportunity to make church more accessible to men.

Outcome

An enjoyable occasion where men are encouraged and engaged.
