Description

Why not organise a superhero party for the 31st October, at your home or the church building, as an alternative to Halloween. Invite your friends and neighbours.

You could:

  • Create challenges, and team games saving a small fluffy toy from danger.

  • Setup obstacle courses, and borrow basic gym equipment to refine superhero skills.

  • Show a short video or give a short talk about Jesus the super saviour, there is a children song by Colin Buchanan called ‘super saviour’ which you may find helpful.

  • Provide superhero food such as ‘Hulk’ green jelly, or ‘Batman’ burgers.

  • Give out invites at your local primary school.

Rationale

Young children often love to dress up, providing them with an alternative party celebrates good rather than evil. Themes of heroics give opportunities to share about Jesus our saviour.

Outcome

Good is celebrated, children have fun, opportunities are available for further discussion.
