This 4 foot door - art installation, conveyed the message of Matthew 18:3 about the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.’ (Matthew 18.3)

This art installation enabled a big message to be proclaimed, alongside a visual representation of the bibles teaching. The accompanying narrative proclaimed truth, which is hard to do in our post-Christendom, pluralistic culture of multiple truths. It has been my increasing experience over the past 20 years that I have encountered more and more people who regard truth as being relative, rather than in any way fact. In other words: ‘it may be true for you but it isn’t true for me.’

And yet, spending 5 days on the streets of Peterborough over 200 people engaged with this piece of art.

It was very popular with children and slightly less so with adults. A number of people passed through the door (with gentle encouragement), took pictures, or asked the team and I about its symbolism.

Around 200 people were engaged by this sculpture.
